This Jewish Community Priority Bill Supports All Californians

Last month, the California Legislature passed AB 2664 (Bauer-Kahan): The Safe Worship Zone Act. Now, Governor Newsom has until September 30 to sign it into law. 

Please take action now to urge him to sign this critical legislation.

AB 2664 creates a 100-foot zone around entrances to houses of worship where no one may approach within 8 feet of a congregant without consent. It preserves the right to protest while allowing people of every faith to enter and leave their places of worship without being surrounded or intimidated.

The bill overcame organized opposition thanks to a broad interfaith coalition—and tens of thousands of Californians who made their voices heard. Help us clear this final hurdle. Take action today.
